Antioch's Ta’khyian Whitset committed to Purdue football, the offensive lineman announced Wednesday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Whitset is a three-star recruit in the 2025 class, ranked as the No. 28 prospect in the state, according to 247Sports. He holds offers from Vanderbilt, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, UAB, Tennessee State among others.

Whitset received an offer from Purdue Feb. 1. It was his first Big 10 offer and 13th offer, overall, at the time. He helped guide Antioch's resurgence last season with a 4-7 record and a trip to the TSSAA Class 6A playoffs. It was the first time since 2016 that Antioch advanced to the playoffs and the first time since 2013 the Bears won at least four games.

Whitset played on both sides of the line. He had 10 pancake blocks and didn't give up a QB pressure or a sack as an offensive tackle. He was named 2023 Third Team All Midstate on offense last December. He was named the Region 5-6A offensive lineman of the year.
