High school sports: Dobyns-Bennett soccer, Tennessee High softball win district titles

The heat of postseason carried on Thursday as several local teams across the region on both the diamond and pitch clawed their way to regionals in elimination games, while others claimed district crowns.

In Bristol, David Crockett survived elimination and punched their ticket to regionals and the District 1-AAA title game by taking down Elizabethton. But in the title game right after, it was Tennessee High exploding for 11 runs after being down 1-0 to win the crown.

In Kingsport, Dobyns-Bennett overcame a 1-0 deficit to Science Hill by scoring two and keeping it that way the entire second half to bring home the district title. Both teams punch their way to regionals with the possibility of meeting again next week for a trip to states.
