The Lady Cyclones came up short on Thursday evening.

Elizabethton was unable to rally late as they saw their season come to a close in a 7-0 decision to David Crockett in the District 1-3A tournament elimination game in Bristol.

It was a hard-fought battle from the opening pitch.
Crockett was able to get runners on third and second in the bottom of the first, but Lela Byrd recorded a strikeout to end the inning. Mikinna Blackwell drew a one-out walk for EHS in the second. However, Elizabethton was unable to move the runner.

The Lady Pioneers broke onto the board in the bottom of the third with a single run and added four runs to the lead in the bottom of the fourth.

Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to mount a rally.

Emma O’Quinn and Blackwell reached base for EHS on walks.

Byrd recorded eight strikeouts for the Lady Cyclones in 5.2 innings of work.

In the pitching circle, Madelyn Dulaney struck out 13 batters and threw a complete-game no-hitter.
